Inconjuction with traction, strengthening it is vital to help promote stabilization and decrease further risk of injury. At times when there is a herniation, exercise can be further irritating because of the movement.

At Advantage Rehab we are able to complete strengthening without movement through the use of the ATM (Active Therapeutic Movements). The ATM provides stability while you are able to complete muscle contractions which allow the back to begin to support itself again.
